NEWS!

In the coming period, Danique Dusée will take on one of the leading roles in 40–45, The Musical. Producer Studio 100 announced today that Dusée will be portraying the role of Leah. She will alternate in this role with Gaia Aikman.
“Danique is an exceptional talent, and as producers we are incredibly pleased that she is now joining our cast,” says Anja van Mensel, CEO of Studio 100. “Danique will play Leah, Louis’s girlfriend. She amazed everyone at the auditions with her acting and singing. She is a tremendous asset, and we are very much looking forward to the upcoming performance period.”
40–45, The Musical has been playing at the Midden Nederland Hallen in Barneveld since September 2024. It is an iconic, large-scale spectacle that has already been seen by more than half a million people. In April 2025, the production received the VriendenLoterij Audience Award for Best Musical. Both audiences and critics have been full of praise for the show, which tells the story of two brothers. They were best friends before the bombing of Rotterdam during the Second World War, but their relationship changes dramatically when they each choose a different side and ultimately find themselves standing face to face, with all the consequences that entails.
“I am incredibly excited to play the role of Leah,” says Danique. “And I also feel very grateful. Since Elisabeth, so many wonderful things have come my way. Sometimes I really have to pinch myself to realize that it’s all actually happening. Leah is a beautiful character to portray. In addition, it’s a unique experience to perform on a set that also features eight moving grandstands. That demands a great deal from the cast. Most important to me, however, is that this story continues to be told—and that is exactly what this production does. I am proud to be part of it.”

MOZART!
China Tour
Danique was part of the Mozart! China tour as first cast Nannerl Mozart.
After her fantastic debut as a musical actress in Elisabeth, Danique Dusée landed one of the leading roles in the musical MOZART!, which premiered in China November 2025.
"The composer of MOZART!, Sylvester Levay, saw her at the premiere of Elisabeth,” producer Albert Verlinde proudly shared. “Levay, who also composed Elisabeth, was—like many others—immediately impressed by Danique’s talents as both an actress and a singer. She was invited to audition for MOZART! and got the role.'
In MOZART!, Danique portrayed Nannerl Mozart, the five-years-older sister of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Far from the usual clichés, MOZART! presents the brilliant artist as a complex and ambivalent figure, tormented by his own genius and struggling with life’s harsh challenges. Since its world premiere in Vienna, the musical has captivated more than 3.2 million people across ten countries.

ELISABETH
Danique was first cast 'young Elisabeth' (2025) in the dutch touring production of 'Elisabeth' the musical. She won the 'upcoming talent' Musicalaward for her role.
The iconic production of Elisabeth toured in the Netherlands from March till october 2025. She performed, among others, with Pia Douwes, William Spaaij and Milan van Waardenburg. The musical contains numerous famous songs, including 'mijn leven is van mij'. The 14-piece live orchestra gave the performance extra grandeur.
BIOGRAPHY
Danique discovered her fascination for the stage when she saw the musical 'Tarzan' for the first time at the Circus Theater. She didn't know it was possible to turn her passion into her career, but with the help of the right teachers who gave her a boost, she decided to audition for the Musicaltheatre program at Fontys School of Fine and Performing Arts. She also discovered her passion for the other side of the stage, namely producing.
During her studies, Danique didn't follow the traditional path. She worked at a campsite to improve her skills as a production leader, working with children, and participating- and improvising theater. In addition, she produced and performed several of her own productions on stage. Danique is convinced that you have to challenge yourself and try new things. That's when you truly find out if you can do something and if you enjoy it.
During her studies, she had the opportunity to perform in several concerts as well as play various roles, such as Cinderella and Rapunzel in Into the Woods and Amanda in Bright Lights, Big City. These roles were completely different from each other, and through them, Danique learned about her versatility as an artist.
Danique played the 'Young Elisabeth' in the Dutch version of Elisabeth the musical and toured in China as 'Nannerl Mozart' in Mozart! the musical. She's currently playing in 40-45 as Leah Liebmann.
